Funny Girls of Fertility
My name is Sharon and I am an IVF Coordinator and supporter of #InfertilityAwareness! I am a graduate of Oklahoma State University and The University of Texas. I started in the oil industry and made a 180 ending up as a BSN, RN working in the world of infertility. Thankful for everyday that I get to help couples through their journey.
Raising awareness for infertility is something that is close to my heart! A community that is full of acronyms that many people are unfamiliar with. My goal with my merchandise is to open communication for those unaware of the trials and tribulations of dealing with infertility, helping everyone to have a better understanding!
Over 7 million people in the United States ALONE experience infertility.
For those unaware of acronyms used while dealing with infertility here is a little help...
TTC = Trying to Conceive
IUI = Intrauterine Insemination.
IVF = In Vitro Fertilization. Manually combining egg and sperm to create an embryo
FET = Frozen Embryo Transfer. You don't actually transfer it frozen, the embryo is thawed and then transferred!
BFP = Big Fat Positive (Pregnancy Test)
PUPO = Pregnant until Proven Otherwise!!
PIO = Progesterone in Oil. Progesterone is an hormone that helps to support the pregnancy. PIO is injected into the backside with a 1.5 inch needle (starting before an embryo transfer going through the first trimester of pregnancy!!)
POAS = Pee on a stick (pregnancy test)
